Minhaj University Lahore celebrated Independence Day with zeal and zest. Worthy Vice Chancellor Dr Sajid Mehmood Shahzad graced the occasion. Flag hoisting ceremony was held in front of the Ibn-e-Khuldun block. A special prayer was offered for the solidarity and progress of Pakistan. In his message, Honourable Dr Hussain Mohi Ud Din Qadri, Deputy chairman BOG of MUL said that Al-Hamad Ulillah! We are breathing in an independent sovereign state today that was achieved after a great struggle and sacrifices of our forefathers. Keeping the hardships borne by our elders in view let us take an oath at this independence day to unite and let go of our ethnic differences and strive together to make our beloved Pakistan rank amongst the most advanced countries of the globe. May Allah Almighty shower his everlasting blessings upon our beloved Pakistan. In his speech, worthy Vice-Chancellor paid rich tribute to the Founder of Pakistan. Various other activities including the singing of the National Anthem and Milli Naghmay were also part of the celebrations. Vice-Chancellor presented special gifts to the children who participated in different activities. On the Day in connection with the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign, Respectable Mrs Sajid Mahmood Shahzad and Respectable Mrs Salman Jahangir along with their children and other females planted trees in the university premises.
