Software Programming Development Competition

The School of Software Engineering (SE), Minhaj University Lahore organized a Software Programming Development Competition on February 11th (2020) Headed by M.Saleem Akhtar (HOD) and duly organized by M. Hussain (Lecturer) and Saif Ali Bajawa (Lecturer). There were in total of eighteen teams from (SE) who participated in the competition. Alpha Coders headed by Umer Sarfaraz won 1st prize of Rs 5000,2nd prize (Rs3000) went to Tycoons Coder headed by Mr. Hammad and the 3rd prize (Rs2000)won by Pro-Tech headed by Muhammad Arslan.
The judges' panel was comprised of M.Umar Munir (Agile Track Studio),   Mr.Shoukat Ali( Senior Software Engineer, BNU) Mr.M. Khalid (Senior Software Engineer WST), Mr. Shahan Siddique(Associate Head, CS) and Bilal Butt(Director Brick Sole). Whereas Dr. Bilal Shoaib, Dean Faculty of CS&IT graced the occasion as a special guest. The event was duly sponsored by Expert Brian technology providers.
Dr. Sajid Mahmood Shahzad, Vice-Chancellor congratulated the winning teams and organizers to promote such workshops as it is the age of Digital Revolution and said,’’ These software competitions provide you with a stimulating, technology-enabled and future-facing learning environment. Future Facing learning equips you with the knowledge, skills and tools to thrive in a complex and uncertain world.”
He added, “prize-winning is motivational and corridors to success need hard work with consistency; but, if you are disrespectful to your teachers and parents then your hard work will be down to drain and doomed to failure. The students who are unsuccessful must not get discouraged and remember failure is stepping stone to success.”
Mr. Bilal Butt( Director Brick Sole) encouraged the students to explore more and more opportunities by being practical and try to be your own boss. He invited the students to call upon the upcoming event on Entrepreneurship and free launching at Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry on February 15th.
Mr. Muhammad-Bin- Saeed, a symbolic student of (SE) while sharing his success story said,’’ Most students of today just learn the skill and don’t practice it. It is the age of innovation and creativity and the key is to be pragmatic in implementing your ideas through the Digital revolution. I am proud to be the successful program developer of Shop & School Management System and would be participating in one the events of Artificial Intelligence in Dubai.”
Mr. M.  Saleem Akhtar while appreciating the efforts of the spirit of students for zealous participation in the competition said,’’ The team of the School of Software and engineering is all there to support, advice inspire and empower your learning and life.’’
The participants of the competition while expressing their views said,’’ Today’s context has improved our perception and understanding. The credit goes to our faculty members those who are always there to provide us with such academic opportunities to learn.”
